It is critical that you upload (a) Clear head and shoulders picture with you smiling and (b) A long shot. Without these appearing on your profile, you will NOT be considered for opportunities.
What is Required?
(a) Head & Shoulders Picture
This should be taken with the last couple of months and have a clear background. No one else should be in the picture
(b) Long Shot / Full Length Body Picture
This should show the full length of your body. Again, it is should be taken within the last couple of months and have a clear background with no one else in the photo.
I have uploaded my image and it is horizontal, what should I do?
All images should be vertical. Once you upload your photo, you can rotate the image LEFT or RIGHT.
I have uploaded my photo, but I am still receiving an email saying that my photos are not uploaded.
This is probably because you have two accounts. Potentially a paid account and an open casting account. You need to upload your photos on to your paid account only.
If this is the case, then please only use the paid account as using two accounts can cause problems with payroll and availability checks.
You can remove the photos from your free account.
Every casting that we work on, we will search our paid members first, so generally there is no need to respond to an Open Casting.
Can I be called even though I did not submit a photo?
No. Nearly all of our casting is based on looks, so without a photo it is very difficult to cast you.
What size (megs) can the photo be?
We compress the photo when you upload it, so there is no size restrictions.
I have uploaded a photo, but there is no rating?
All H&S images are reviewed by MovieExtras.ie. Please allow up to 10 working days for your photo rating.
Photos Guidelines
*** SMILE *** We work on hundreds of adverts every year, the Casting Directors want to see your teeth. So you will increase your chances if you SMILE in your photo!
- The photo should be colour (black & white will be rejected)
- There should be no clutter in the background
- It should be uploaded vertically rather than horizontally
- There should be no one else in the photo
- The background should be clear white
- It should only be your head and shoulders

Why should I upload a video?
Uploading a video will increase your chance of getting better paid roles, such as featured roles, talking parts and parts on adverts. It allows us to share the video with a Casting Director who will be able to get a much richer insight into who you are rather than just a photo.
It is a great opportunity for you to show what you are like in front of the camera. You do NOT need to have ANY experience or training, it is simply a video to show off YOU 🙂
It gives Casting Directors a real sense of you, which can result in being asked along to a casting.
How long should the video be?
It should be a maximum of 1 minute long
What should I say or do in the video?
YOU!! Basically it is a short piece to camera about you. So you could talk about what previous work you have done or what sports or hobbies you are involved with, or whatever you think, maybe what you work as.
Can I upload a video?
No, you have to upload your video to Vimeo first, then upload the web link / URL from Vimeo on to your account
Can I use a YouTube video?
No, we can only work with videos uploaded on Vimeo
