Some projects have a very quick turn around and require us at MovieExtras.ie to find people as soon as possible. If you receive an AV check, read the provided details CAREFULLY, paying attention to any dates mentioned. If you ARE available, and interested, then please reply {YES} as soon as you can. If, for some reason, you are NOT available, or interested, then please reply {NO}. It is just as important for us to know who is not available.
No, this is only assessing whether you are available for a production or not. Your details will have been passed onto the production who will decide who to have on set. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation.
You will receive a BOOKING confirmation message. This should include more details on the project, and a reconfirming of all the dates you are required.
Generally, we can only contact those who are selected. This can be for a variety of reasons, such as the production not making a decision until very late in the casting process, allowing for potential change of requirements and general time constraints. The Film Industry can be very fast moving at times.
If you have received your confirmation of being booked, generally the call time is issued the day before the shoot. This could be communicated late in the day depending upon the hours the production team is working. It should be with you before 6pm, but if you are concerned, contact the Casting Agent that booked you.
There maybe times when the exact location is not available until the day before shoot. Generally, it should be with you before about 6pm, if you are concerned, contact the Casting Agent that booked you.
Unless otherwise advised, be prepared for a long day. Call times can be as early as 6AM and wrap times can be as late as 11PM.
Even if you have been advised of the wrap time, there is a good chance that filming may go beyond the wrap time. So do not make any commitments that you cannot get out of for the evening if you are booked on set.
Generally you will be paid over time if the day goes beyond the original wrap time. This will depend on how long you were originally booked for.
You should have received a brief from Casting about what to wear / bring to the shoot. If you are uncertain, contact the Casting Agent who booked you. If no further information is provided then it is best practice to bring 3-6 different options with you (at least 3 full outfits), so production can decide on the day.
Follow the brief that you have received. If you have not received a brief from the casting team, do not apply heavy make up and leave your hair as natural as possible. On the shoot day, bring your usual make up and hair products with you. If you are still uncertain what to do, contact the Casting Agent who booked you. Please be prepared to do your own make-up, as not all productions have a dedicated hair and make-up team.
If you are provided with a brief, please follow that. If you have not received a brief from the casting team, please wear your hair natural, and as close to your MovieExtras.ie profile picture as possible – as that is what you were booked from. MEN: Please keep your facial hair as close to your MovieExtras.ie profile picture as possible, unless otherwise stated in the brief / requested by the production.
This will depend on the production. Generally, if transport is provided, you will be told this by the Casting Agent. If you have not been told, you can take it that no transport is provided. If in doubt, email the Casting Agent who booked you.
No, unless there are extreme situations where you cannot make it. If you cancel, it causes an awful lot of problems for the production and for MovieExtras.ie. If you cancel, it may significantly effect any further work opportunities as you may be deemed to be unreliable by productions.
Once someone is booked on a production, an awful lot of work goes on in the background to prepare for the extras who will be on set.
Remember the only reason that you are booked is because the production needs you to be part of the production. No production will book too many or too few people, they will book exactly what they need to ensure that they get shots that they want.
