Within a week of your work date, please login to MovieExtras.ie and add your PPSN and Bank Details to your profile under the PAYROLL tab. Your bank account MUST be SEPA compliant.
The PPSN used must be of the person that worked. This applies to both adults and minors.
If you have a minor under 18 years of age, you cannot use your own PPSN on their profile. If you are awaiting the PPSN, leave this field blank, your payment can be processed without, but the payment will be subject to Emergency Tax, this can be claimed back if appropriate.
All income earned via MovieExtras.ie is paid via the PAYE system. This means that your agreed fee will be paid to you less PAYE, Employees PRSI and USC.
Please check with your Social Protection office whether working for MovieExtras.ie on a casual base will affect your Social Welfare payments. Generally, you are not allowed to take up insurable employment when on maternity leave paid by the State.
This will depend upon your own circumstances and whether you have allocated your tax credits to Crew, Cast & Performers Ltd, Employers Reg. Number 3280809AH (see the TAX section for more information).
When you receive payment, you will be able to see the breakdown of Gross Pay, Tax and Net pay after your tax deductions on your payslip. Your payslips are available via your Profile by clicking on the PAYROLL tab.
To view your payslip: Login to MovieExtras.ie and click on the PAYROLL tab. For more information on your payslip, see below.
Large productions - Payment will issue 2-3 weeks after your work date.
If you have work dates over a number of weeks on a production, you may not receive payment for all of your work dates together as we run payroll for each week separately.
Adverts, promo's etc - Payment for your work day (BSF) issues within 30 days of your work date.
Adverts - Usage Fees - Payment of any usage fees due to you are paid once our invoice has been paid.
Generally the reason for this is Tax and USC. Review your payslip, which is available via your account. If you are on Emergency Tax, there is a potential that close to 50% of your fee will be paid to Revenue. If this happens and you have spare tax credits, contact Revenue.ie to get your tax back if applicable.
If you have received a text message asking you to update you bank account or PPSN and you are concerned if it is legitimate, login into your account and select the PAYROLL tab. If your details have not been completed and you have worked recently, please complete the details. If your details have been are already in place, please ignore the text message.
Please note that you will not be able to add your PPS Number until you have worked for us at least once and your work date has been added to our payroll system. We only require PPS Numbers for payroll purposes.
What your payslip tells you:
(1) How you are being taxed: Emergency Tax, Week 1 or Cumulative.
(2) Tax Credits and Tax Cut Off point allocated to the employment
(3) Gross pay, PAYE tax, Universal Social Charge, Annual leave accrued.
(4) Work Dates and Productions you are being paid for in this payment.
Understanding Payslip Info:
(1) PPS Number: Your unique identifier number used for various public services.
(2) Cutoff: This relates to the different tax brackets.
(3) PAYE: Pay As You Earn; deducts various taxes from your income.
(4) Tax Credit: Outlines the different credits you are entitled to. A single person has a different tax credit allowance than a married employee, for example. For more information on Tax Credits click here
(5) PRSI: Pay Related Social Insurance. Used for pensions and social welfare.
(6) USC: The Universal Social Charge, which is yet another form of tax.
(7) Gross Pay: What you pay before deductions.
(8) Net Pay: What you pay after deductions.
(9) Total Deductions: The amount you lose to deductions during the payment period.ow much
(10) Annual leave accrued. You must apply for your annual leave via the Annual Leave section of your profile.
