What have we been up to?
We are very very busy in the casting offices of MovieExtras.ie. We have 100's and 100's of members involved in lots of productions every week. This weeks payroll will see nearly 1,000 members receive payment!!
Over the last couple of weeks, our members were involved with:
- TEN major productions (see below)
- A dating show
- 15 adverts (paying between €150 to €10,000!!)
- Halloween promotional
- Bingo ladies for a promotional event
- Sumo wrestlers
- VO for animation
- Ongoing advert for an international client - shooting all around Ireland
- Several castings for adverts
- And several other smaller projects
And the pay on some of these projects was up to €1,200, while one advert alone may pay €10,000!!!
While there will be opportunities for people of all ages, sizes and shapes, the following groups of people are particularly in demand!!
- Females size 6 or 8 with natural hair - any age
- Males with at least 2 inches of hair on their head, (no part shaved)
- Males generally from the age of 18 to 50, especially those who could be Gardai, Army and Detectives
Ripper St
We have been given the green light on Ripper St. Shooting takes place in South County Dublin until April 2016.
While the production will require a wide variety of people who are appropriate for a costume production, we will especially need:
Males aged 18 to 35 with at least two inches of hair on their head and none of their head shaved. The longer the hair the better!!
Penny Dreadful
Our members will be involved in the third season of the Award Winning, PENNY DREADFUL.
Starring Eva Greene, Timothy Dalton and Josh Hartnett, this is a Showtime / SKY Atlantic production with viewers from all over the world.
Spin off from an animation / live production
A spin off from a previously very successful animation meets live TV!
2 x Comedy Productions
Our members are involved in TWO comedy productions. Alas, we have to keep them confidential. But one is a spin off from a well know production, while the other is a very well know production!!
Republic of Telly
The IFTA award-winning Republic of Telly is back on RTÉ2 with presenter Kevin McGahern ripping up the telly for your entertainment, along with brand new member of the team, comedian Joanne McNally.
Ireland's longest running comedy show will continue to showcase new talent, biting TV reviews and hilarious celebrity sketches. It will be shooting in Dublin over the next couple of months.
Horror Production
Just starting a new horror film :) Guess it is the time of the year for it.
Film set in Africa!!
A film set in Africa shooting some of the scenes in Dublin.
Country Film
Film set in rural Ireland in the 80's.
Red Rock - TV3 Drama
First aired in January 2015, Red Rock is TV3's first own production entry into the Soap Opera world. Co produced with Element Pictures, the production has two episodes a week with 40 weeks a year. It has a consolidated viewership of approx 225,000, not bad for a production not even 6 months old!
MovieExtras.ie is the exclusive supplier for the production. It is a contemporary production. As a Garda station features prominently in it, we are always on the lookout for extras who look good as Gardai, detectives and other EMS personnel.
Last Year
Last year was one of our busiest years to date.
Approximately 82% of members received a payment either through our casting services or through the directory service.
